About Ayana Healing

About Me

From a very young age, life taught me about pain, loss, and the fragility of innocence. I was exposed to various forms of trauma that no child should endure. When my great-grandmother, the one person who embodied unconditional love passed away when I was eleven. I had my first spiritual experience: I saw her standing by my bedside. It was comforting and real, but my family’s religious beliefs dismissed it as wrong. That moment closed a door inside me that would take decades to reopen.

At twelve, after disclosing abuse to social services, I was placed in a mental health hospital instead of being protected. I learned early that truth can be dangerous, and silence can be mistaken for safety. My teenage years unfolded fast and raw — I entered the sex industry far too young, believing that validation, love, and acceptance could be earned through the body. I sold not only my body but fragments of my soul, seeking worth in places that only deepened my emptiness.

At nineteen, I found myself homeless, broken, and lost after making a painful decision that left a scar on my spirit. I had nowhere to go — until one day, a kind soul handed me a book: The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari. That simple gesture became a spark. It led me toward meditation, mindfulness, and eventually, prayer. But my wounds were deep, and spiritual bypassing couldn’t soothe the pain.

In my darkest hour, I prayed for meaning. And that prayer led me to the Amazon Jungle — to the medicine, the plants, the silence, and the sacred ways of remembering. The ceremonies didn’t “save” me; they helped me meet myself — the parts that had been exiled, abandoned, and unloved. My connection with the Shipibo people is recent and rooted in deep respect, but my work with plant medicines has been ongoing — a living dialogue with nature, ancestors, and spirit.

Today, when I look back at the girl who was dismissed, silenced, and seen by many — even her own family — as a lost cause, I see someone reborn. The same girl they believed would end up by the bins, lost and forgotten, now holds a First-Class Honours Degree in Psychotherapy Studies and is completing a Master’s in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy. My life is proof that the human spirit is capable of extraordinary transformation — not through denial of pain, but by facing it with courage.

My spiritual path has never been linear. There have been countless falls, setbacks, and regressions. But each time I fall, I return to the same truth — that there is a guiding force greater than me. My faith rests in the unseen, in my ancestors, in spirit guides, and in the rhythm of the universe that constantly reminds me: I am never truly alone.

For a time, “healing” became my identity. I clung to it — the endless shadow work, the candles, the ceremonies, the idea of becoming “healed.” But true healing, I’ve learned, is not about escaping pain or performing enlightenment. It’s about being human. It’s found in ordinary moments — washing dishes, holding a friend’s hand, forgiving yourself again and again. Healing, to me, now means acceptance — letting light and darkness coexist without needing to fix either.

My journey continues — as a woman, a therapist, a student of life, and a shamanic practitioner devoted to walking the path of service with humility, integrity, and love.

Healing Modalities

The name Ayana came to me after a profound loss. In 2014, following a painful abortion, I began having recurring dreams about a little girl. She would appear beside me. Gentle, luminous, patient. Over the years, she revealed her name: Ayana. In time, I understood that she was not just a memory, but the spirit of the unborn child, a guide who had chosen to stay close.

As the years passed, Ayana grew in spirit — a young woman now, standing as a bridge between worlds. She helps me guide others through their own inner child work, grief, and reconnection. Her energy embodies compassion, truth, and remembrance. She teaches me — and those I work with — that healing doesn’t always come from outside us, but from meeting the parts of ourselves we once left behind.

In my psychotherapy sessions, I focus on the unseen — the moments between words, the sensations that speak before thought, the symbolic language of the unconscious. Spiritual experiences, dreams, synchronicities, and ancestral echoes are all welcome in this space. Together, we bring to light what has been buried or silenced, allowing it to be integrated with tenderness and understanding. My role is to hold a container strong enough for what wishes to surface, yet soft enough for the soul to feel safe to unfold.

Alongside psychotherapy, my path is rooted in shamanic practice. Through shamanic journeys, Kambo medicine, and energy healing, I work with the realms of the underworld, middle world, and upper world — seeking insight, balance, and restoration. These modalities are not separate from psychotherapy but extensions of it — bridges between the psychological and the spiritual.

There is no single modality I adhere to. Psychotherapy, shamanism, and medicine work are all threads of the same web. Each person who comes to me carries their own rhythm, their own medicine, and their own timing. My role is not to heal you, but to awaken the power that already lives within you — the quiet knowing that you are capable of remembering who you are.

Sometimes that means sitting together in silence. Sometimes it means ceremony, tears, or laughter. The real healing happens not through the tools I use, but through the moment you begin to hear your own voice again — the one that lives deep inside, waiting to be remembered.

Kambo

What is Kambo?

Kambo, a traditional medicine deeply rooted in the practices of various indigenous tribes in the Amazon rainforest, particularly in Peru,  Brazil, and neighbouring regions, is derived from the potent secretion of  a large tree frog indigenous to the area. This remarkable substance,  rich in peptides and alkaloids, holds significant cultural and medicinal  importance within these communities.

The process of collecting Kambo secretion involves intricate ritual ceremonies conducted by experienced indigenous shamans. These ceremonies are characterised by profound respect and care for the well-being of the frog and its natural habitat. It's crucial to note that no harm comes to the frogs during this process; instead, it's performed with utmost reverence and mindfulness towards the ecosystem.

Kambo has gained attention beyond indigenous communities for its potential therapeutic properties. When administered, it is often applied to small burns on the skin, allowing its bioactive compounds to enter the bloodstream. Science suggest that Kambo may offer various health benefits, including detoxification, pain relief, and enhanced physical and mental well-being. However, it's essential to approach Kambo use with caution and respect for its traditional roots and potential risks.
